Round two: action-packed at BA Stores
19th Jun 2026
The BA Stores event saw the weather just about hold off, for Scotland’s first two days of Mitas Agri Tires British Championship pulling action. Five points classes were in action over the weekend, with double points on offer for this double-header, as competition took place on both Friday evening and Saturday afternoon.
And there were several new and improved tractors making their 2026 points debut pulls at BA Stores.
The Super Farm tractors kicked-off Friday evening’s action, which saw 10 competitors take to the track. While last season’s Super Farm runner up Chasin’ Dreams driven by Jason Walton, set the distance to beat in a four-tractor pull off with a measured pull of 111.68m, only David Todd’s Redemption got close. And even then, Todd was a staggering 11m behind. A solid third was chalked up by Ifan Thomas on-board the Evil Donkey at 95.86m, with Mhairi Cameron rounding out the pull-off with a distance of 92.53m on Smokey 2.
Next up came the Limited Pro Stock class, with 12 tractors hitching to the Performance Sledge Team’s Terminator. After an extensive rebuild, True Blue appeared on the start-list along with John Orwin’s Total Madness, along with Major Madness and NBF Mean n Green, all making their debut pulls for the 2026 season.
A four-way pull off ensued, with Ed Bateman’s Major Madness taking the top spot, closely harassed by Jamie Humphrey’s Blue Wicked, just 23cm behind. Bogged Doon, driven by Derek Greenhill, was test puller and after dropping six places, made the pull-off and took third spot on the podium. The fourth tractor in the pull-off was Giles Moston’s G-Force, though a catastrophic engine failure brought his weekend to an abrupt halt at around 18m.
The 3.6t Super Sport class welcomed a new addition from Perthshire, Scotland, as Jake Nicol rolled onto the track with Aw Flash n Nae Cash, formerly the Revolution tractor from the Netherlands. An effortless full pull for the newbie driver helped the All Flash n Nae Cash take a maiden run win, over Jamie Fleming on the No I Deere, which made a distance of just 65.49m.
In the 4.5t Super Sport class, Wyn Thomas’ Evil Deceiver JD – fresh from a second place in Germany at a Eurocup event – scooped up the top-spot, with Grant Morrison’s Orange Factory in second, and Alistair Parkinson’s Oh Bonnie in third.
Friday night was rounded-off up with the Super Sport trucks, much to the delight of an enthusiastic Scottish crowd. Three of the five trucks made it into the pull-off, with Duncan Clitheroe’s Thirsty Turtle just claiming victory, with a slim margin of only 21cm over Gray Vipond’s Yellow Viper.
Saturday action saw the Super Farm class get the event underway and again it was Chasin’ Dreams claiming the top spot, and sweeping the board at the event with another impressive victory, as Redemption, Evil Donkey, Smokey 2 and Dieselross all chased hard in a five-way pull-off.
Some casualties in the Limited Pro Stock class saw the previous night’s winner unable to make the track. Local machine True Blue managed shook off the previous night’s gremlins to make a full pull. One by one, remaining Limited Pro Stock tractors came agonisingly close to the full pull mark, but only Derek Greenhill’s Bogged Doon could force a pull-off.
Unfortunately, a broken fitting on True Blue’s fuel system stopped the feisty Ford from making a measured pull, leaving Bogged Doon to bump the sledge for the win. However, Derek Greenhill didn’t disappoint – he put on a show, taking first place with a distance of 94.29m, with third place collected by perhaps the event’s furthest travelled team – that of Bournemouth, Dorset-based Tom Webber, who steered Hard Work to 99.78m, missing the pull-off by just 22cm.
The 3.6t Super Sport saw both tractors make full pulls on Saturday, before Aw Flash n Nae Cash edged the No I Deere’s 92.24m with a distance of 99.86m.
Evil Deceiver dominated the 4.5t Super Sport class with the only full pull, and one that had pace, leaving Orange Factory with rear-axle issues, and Oh Bonnie gathering data after experimenting with a new gear ratio.
Five Super Sport trucks wrapped up the weekend’s action, with the Thirsty Turtle showing some muscle and claiming its second win of the weekend, in a three-way pull-off against Stephen Charles’ second place Brutus Thundertruck and Gray Vipond’s third place Yellow Viper. Tweety took fourth place points, while the Wicked Bull suffered catastrophic engine failure, punching a large hole in the engine block.
