Round one: Scorton sets the bar high
26th May 2026
Held at Scorton, Lancashire, round one of the 2026 BTPA championship series sponsored by Mitas, got the BTPA's six-round season off to a flying start with an action-packed two-day pull.
Despite the first day's action being hampered by wet weather, once the rain stopped, the action rolled on, long into the evening, with the cooler evening weather palying into the hands of those with high-powered machinery. Over 60 BTPA-registered tractors attended, along with PPA and Eurocup competitors - the latter in attendance for the Light Modified and Pro Stock Eurocup classes. There was also a guest appearance on the microphone from Dutch commentator Erik van Oosterhout, the voice of Made's Power Weekend held in the Netherlands.
Event promoter Craig Whittingham was pleased with the way this fledgling points pull continues to gather momentum. He and the team at Scorton have put considerable time and effort into improving on-site logistics following feedback from the 2025 event. The improvements included better roadways, more electrical hook-ups for those camping, and a much larger banking to improve the spectator experience. It was said that around 9,000-10,000 visitors were welcomed through the gates over the two day event.
