Building the new Lancashire Bomber

2nd Jan 2023

Since the sale of the original Fordson Major-based Lancashire Bomber to new owners Dave and Mark Pickup, team mates Chris Wilkinson, John 'Fez' Forrest and Simon Woods have been dividing their spare time between helping the new owners run the tractor, along with building themselves an all-new puller.

While time has been challenging, the tractor build is now starting to progress. The new Bomber is using a Ford 5000 rear-end combined with a 401 Ford engine more commonly found in the TW tractor series. "We still intend to compete in the Limited Pro Stock class, but with a tractor that offers a stronger engine and tougher rear-end," explains Chris Wilkinson. "We've still a long way to go, but we're already looking forward to getting back on-track, with our own creation."

When the new tractor eventually makes it onto the track, the team says it will still be known as the Lancashire Bomber.
