2026 brings lots of new and improved metal

29th May 2026

It's fantastic to see a number of new and updated BTPA tractors hitting the track for the 2026 season.

First up is a new Limited Super Stock tractor from Freddi Dewhurst. Called Bad i-Deere, this metallic green JD 4650 is the second machine to roll out of the Dewhurst stable, joining a 3.6T Super Sport tractor called No i-Deere. Despite it's name, the Bad i-Deere will soon be a welcome addition to this growing class of alcohol-powered machines.

James Edwards also took to the track for the first time at Scorton with his Fordson Power Major called It's Only tickets. Competing in the Limited Pro Stock class, James secured a seventh place following an impressive full pull, backed up with a pull-off distance of 69.22m. We're expecting to see another new Limited Pro Stock on track soon, from pullers Onky Ankers and Steve Ainsworth. Called Bad Manners, this Ford T8-derived machine is the culmination of these two competitors selling their previous rides (Skinny and Warrior) and pooling resources to create a more competitive tractor. Bad Manners is using a Ford 401 engine with a component rear axle. The team is aiming to make it's maiden run at the BA Stores event.

The Valtra Dragons Pulling Team, run by Shropshire family Gareth Jones and his wife Sarah, plus son Nathan and daughter Olivia, came to the Scorton track with a brace of Pro Stock Dragons. Alongside the existing red-liveried Diesel Dragon was a cool grey Ice Dragon that was formerly an Iced Bear and latterly No Guts, No Glory that ended up changing hands in several boxes of bits.

While Scorton was a first-time experience for Olivia on-board the Diesel Dragon, Nathan struggled to defrost the Icy Dragon enough to breeze beyond a distance of 17.21m, after the early on-set of fuel starvation that led to Nathan shutting down.

Mark, Mel and Ellie Pacey from Northamptionshire came to the track with a completely redesigned On The Limit tractor, ready to resume their fight for glory in the light modified class. Opting to buy with Wicked Screamer chassis from the extremely succesful Boer family from the Netherlands, On The Limit now has a side-by-side engine configuration offering better balance and greater weight distribution than it's previous stair-step engine layout.

Wynn Thomas' Evil stable continues to grow, and the black-liveried IH called Evil Dragon Fire appeared in the Pro Stock class, while the Evil Deceiver John Deere 8400R competes in the 4.5t Super Sport - both won their respective classes.
