Bought in 2022 as a rolling chassis, probably while drunk in a Hope Valley pub, Trial and Error is a Fordson Major with Ford Cargo six-cylinder engine. Extensively rebuilt in winter including a new injection pump from Chris Wilkinson, and a flywheel from John Pye, it has a Crower clutch purchased from Duncan Clitheroe. The tractor still uses a standard Fordson Major backend. After a few false starts, we are at last away down the track. The tractor is a true family affair, with the entire family getting involved.
