Based on a Case IH Magnum, husband and wife team John and Lorena Eccles have owned the tractor since 2006. Supported by team members Scott Murphy, Jack Mellodew, KD Stuart, Zippy and Sam Mellodew, the tractor has been continually developed and features a a lightweight chassis, lightweight gearbox housing, four-speed Prefab transmission, light-weight half-shafts and a cast iron rear centre housing that has also been trimmed of a few kilos. The DT466 engine uses Hypermax components with fuel supplied by a Sigma pump using 16mm elements, courtesy of diesel specialist SW&CW Wilkinson. A 5in turbo, water injection and a water-to-air intercooler completes the Stage X version of Simply Red.
