Montrose-based Jim Whitecross is bringing a new tractor to the track for 2024. It’s called Gator 2, Lynx Edition – named after its four Gem turbine engines used by the Lynx helicopter. Having put the BTPA 2.5t title in his back pocket in 2021, Jim stripped the then Rolls Royce Meteor-powered Gator back to its bare chassis and has been busy ever since trying to engineer a lot more reliable power for his light modified tractor. And with it, a lot of bespoke engineering has taken place to help keep the tractor within the weight limit.
